One of the cool things we did to close out the month of March was our Marriage Retreat at ACF. Joe and Sharon Mayeaux came in and were our leaders for the retreat. They used the book "Love and Respect" which is one of Shannon and mine's favorite books. It has helped us in so many ways as we have found ourselves and each other along our marriage journey. Both sets of Briz's were able to join us at our retreat and it was a very good time. Although it was one of the quicker retreats that we have had, it was very good. One of my favorite moments of the night was being able to be paired up with Brent and Stephanie (God arranged as usual) :) and we were able to pray for each other and each other's marriages. I am blessed to have so many people in my life who are there for me and want the best from me, but also want the best of my marriage with my wife. I think accountability partners are huge. We closed the retreat out with a wonderful dinner and nice lowlight candlelight setting. It was an awesome retreat and I hope we are able to do it again next year.
Oh, and funniest highlight of the night here was the play that Bitsy put together that started "Adam and Eve". Hilarious!!!

SPRING BREAK 2010
Spring break 2010 was one of the few spring breaks that we have had where we just decided to up and go and fly by our pants. (Which is normally how we function anyways!! :) ) On Friday evening, we went out to dinner with our friends Robert and DeeDee. At about 10:00 that evening, we were talking about spring break plans and trying to get to the beach. They said, you guys should go with us! We are leaving in the morning. And so being who we are, Shannon and I headed home and stayed up till 1 in the morning getting all of our stuff packed up.
We headed out early Saturday morning and stayed from Saturday to Tuesday. It was one of the best "on the fly" trips we have ever been on. The kids had an absolute blast together and it was fun to just have a beach trip where we could chill. We did a lot of eating out and ate really well. The Hangout and Hazels ruled!!
We had a great day at the beach on Sunday and was able to fly kids and just run around and enjoy the sun. You can see some great pictures below.
We probably had the most fun on Sunday night when we went to "The Track." Caden loves watching Nascar racing with me, but he has never been on a go-kart before in his life. When we got to the track, we were able to each pair up with a kid and let the big kids show the little kids how it's done. And they loved it!!! We then proceeded to move to the kiddie park and they had single go-karts for the little kids at the kiddie park. I was a little nervous about letting him try it on his own, but he wanted to, so we let him go. It was the most hysterical thing that I have seen in a long time. That kid thought he was Dale Earnhardt driving that car, and he hit everything he could possibly hit. He even hit the poor park worker when the kid needed him to stop at the end. He knew one pedal and one pedal only and that was the gas pedal. We don't hit the break pedal at our house!! LOL
We also did some swimming in the pool at the condo and had an awesome time. It was so much fun and we hope to be able to do it again with our buddies this summer!
The second half of our 2010 spring break was spent with Uncle Stink, Aunt Leslie and the crew. We spent a couple of days in Atlanta. Although that trip got started out on a bad note (note to self...get a GPS system!!) it ended up being a very close and fun trip. We spent the day at the aquarium in Atlanta and how cool was it. The kids had a blast! It was very crowded, but as the day went on, it seemed to clear out and we were able to move around a little bit easier. The kids got to see all kinds of interesting things there and it is a wonderful aquarium. I would highly recommend it for any who want to visit. We ended up spending the night in Atlanta and had a fun time swimming with Katie and Cole and the crew. We always have a blast with the Clarks and love them very much!! Enjoy the pics from Hotlanta below.
